ABOUT CCDC DESIGN ASSISTANCE EDUCATION EVENTS RESOURCES NEIGHBORHOODS CITYSPACE

Created as a partnership between CCDC and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Charlottesville Civic Action is an open challenge to local nonprofit organizations to address the following question: “What is the most promising opportunity to strengthen our community over the next decade, and what action will your organization take to make a difference?” Of those who responded, 12 organizations were selected to team with local graphic designers to create a poster that illustrates how their organization chose to respond to the question. The posters are featured in a public exhibition hosted in the CCDC gallery through July 30.  View the non-profits' posters here and be sure to join us for the Charlottesville Civic Action community forum on July 27.

Coming to the CCDC Gallery in August - Storyline
July 12-21 Piedmont Council of the Arts will collaborate with The Bridge, Charlottesville Parks & Recreation, and CCDC for StoryLine 2010, a hands-on project for Charlottesville youth involving collaborative mural design and creative storytelling inspired by a walking
expedition of downtown Charlottesville. The exhibit will explore the project through a variety of visual media - providing a childs-eye view of Charlottesville's past, present and future.
